Approvals and applications under the Forestry Grant Scheme for new woodland creation this season and in the next two years continue to rise. We are pressing both Scottish and UK Governments for clarity about future funding.
Bearing in mind that it takes about 18 months to bring a scheme forward to the submit stage, the present guarantee - of full funding for any SRDP FGS contract entered into before the end of 2020 - is nearing the end of its effective life.
