Confor briefing on the Committee on Climate Change Land Use Report
31 January 2020
What does it say and what does it mean for Confor members?
On 23 January 2020 the Committee on Climate Change released its report ‘Land use: policies for a net-zero UK’ to advise the government on the action it needs to take to deliver the emissions cuts required in this key sector.
The report recommends planting of at least 30,000 hectares afforestation each year, including a large component of productive conifer, and 80% of broadleaf woodland brought into active and productive management.
Confor has prepared this briefing for members on the detail of the report and its implications for them.
