Tree health resilience plan launched - On Friday 25 May, Defra published the Tree Health Resilience Strategy – part of the 25 Year Environment Plan to protect England's trees from pests and diseases. Read more
Firewood import scheme off to good start - The Statutory Notification Scheme for Imports of Solid Fuelwood (firewood) had an excellent first year.
EU action over Xylella -The European Commission has referred Italy to the European Union Court of Justice, alleging that the country failed to adequately prevent further spread of the quarantine organism Xylella fastidiosa in the Apulia region.
