Working at Forestry and Land Scotland is all about ‘People, Pride and Purpose.’ Join us and take pride in supporting the economy, protecting and enhancing the environment by managing Scotland's National forests and land.

The Nursery Manager (Glasshouse) is responsible for quality and quantity of trees produced from our brand-new glasshouse facility. Working closely with the Nursery Manager (Field), the Dispatch & Logistics Manager and the Team Leaders, you will guide a flexible team of Nursery Operatives to complete our annual work cycle, including the germination of up to 15 million seeds for our bare-root nursery operations, the grading and dispatch of those bare-root trees after they’ve been lifted from the field, and the start-to-finish production of up to 4 million cell-grown trees per year.

FLS Plant and Seed Supply is a dedicated team of 30 people responsible for growing or sourcing the 25 million trees per year required for the forests and land managed by FLS. We do this from the only publicly owned tree nursery in Scotland, Newton Nursery, near Elgin, which is currently being redeveloped with a 12,000sqm glasshouse.
